I was at Brands Hatch yesterday on the EVO track day with the CG-Lock demonstration car. Quite a successful day all in all...

The purpose was to test out a marketing idea for CG-Lock. We took the CG-Lock Subaru Impreza WRX to the Brands Hatch EVO track day with the intention of offering free hot lap rides; the intention being to demonstrate how well the device works. I spent much of the day in-an-out of the pits picking up and dropping off passengers. The rides were generally 3 - 4 laps dependent on traffic. There's a short (but 10mb!!) video clip of the CG-Lock "Scooby" exiting Graham Hill bend, going along Cooper Straight and into Surtees (it's a shame the video ends before the car is properly into Surtees as I was getting some great 4-wheel drifts out of lap after lap) - here.

Despite the day being poorly attended as a result of the date being changed, plus, we think, a not-so-good weather forecast, the day proved very successful with a number of the devices being sold on the day and several promises of future purchases. All but one (there's "one" born every minute of course!) of the many passengers I took round loved the CG-Lock, immediately realising the benefits of it.

As well as giving hot lap rides for most of the day in the "Scooby", I was also asked by the organisers to jump in and instruct a few people to take some of the workload off the two EVO instructors, as there were quite a few people requiring instruction in their own cars. A Porsche Carrera 4 (993), a BMW M3 (E30) and a Dodge Viper GTS were amonst them.
